It Gives Me Great Pleasure . . .

to introduce you to Dr. Marvin Newell—the next IFMA* executive director! Marv will assume this position on January 1, 2007. We are pleased that his wife, Peggy, will join him at the IFMA as his assistant and coworker.

At the IFMA/EMS Annual Meeting in September 2006, you will have the privilege of meeting Marv and Peggy and to participate in his vision for the IFMA in this 21st century.
At this unique time of turmoil, change and transition in our world and as this affects missions, we believe the Newells' gifts and missionary and professional experience have equipped them for the IFMA leadership. Marv's field leadership, home office service and academic experience coupled with Peggy's business background and service as a missionary wife and mother all come together to form a God-tailored preparation for such a time as this.

Dr. Newell's wide experience and service include work as a missionary with TEAM for 21 years, 15 of those years in Papua (Irian Jaya), Indonesia and 6 years in Wheaton as Regional Director for TEAM's ten Pacific Rim fields. For the past seven years he has served full time on the faculty of Moody Graduate School as Professor of Missions and chair of the Intercultural Studies Program.

Marv received his undergraduate studies at Moody Bible Institute, Calvary Bible College, Grace Theological Seminary and received the D. Miss. from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.

Dr. Newell was ordained for the ministry at Easton Bible Church in Mt. Holly, NJ in 1983, previously joining TEAM for service in 1978. While in Irian Jaya, his primary ministry was teaching at a Bible college and training church leaders. Marv and Peggy were also involved in church development among the Biak tribe and in field leadership.

Marv has served on the U. S. Council of Christar, the IFMA board, China Team board and actively participates in the Evangelical Missiological Society. He has traveled in over twenty countries, teaching and speaking at international conferences.

Marv & his wife, Peggy, have four adult children and are proud grandparents. They live in Elgin, Illinois.

So—I encourage you to come to the IFMA/EMS Annual Meeting, September 28, 29 & 30, 2006 at the Orlando Airport Marriott. Here is the information you need to register. I'll see you there!

John Orme, Th.D
